I have a1985 3cx JCB with an oil leak on the bottom plate of the king post. Can I remove the bottom plate of the king post without all the seals or mechanics dropplng out to check if the gaskett is split.

Put a bottle jack under the plate and let it down slowly, the gear and the post might come out with the plate and it's heavy !

Thank you Phil
Are you aware if drawings available for this king post. The serial number of the machine is 3cx-4/320805/p/s. I have tried various sites and found nothing.
