It's not bang up to date as JCB are using blacks rams on everything now.

Hi Joe,

Here's a couple of pics from the SED 2008 so I should think this 4CX is the model your after pics of complete with cack rams oops I mean black rams :)
Somebody should tell the manufacturers that black rams are a big yuk :x

The black axel hubs don't look right either- JCB seem to be increasing the black parts on their machines in recent years.

Thanks alot! I kind of agree with the clack cylinders they arent the best looking.....but i totally disagree with the black axels i think they really make the machine stand out. Ive only seen one new JCB other than the JS290 at SED and that was a JS145W and it looked poor. Theres also numerous new black cylinder 3CX's at my local dealer and they look crap.

Those black cylinders are all a good idea until you have to replace a ram from an old machine and the new one comes black. its either have all yellow rams and one black ram, or we paint the new (black ram) yellow for the customer!

The idea behind all the black rams is to help with environmental issuses jcb tells us that there is less carbon in the black paints, and it takes more time to swith paint from yellow to black in the ram shop?

If I were a JCB customer I would demand yellow rams on my machine for the same price. And as for environmental issues its about time big brother got the message the silent majority don't give two hoots about our carbon footprint :x
