Hello again

I'm going to take my 3c mk3 for a drive down the road possibly next week but iv noticed the gearbox makes quite a loud whine when at speed in 4th and 5th
As it's the only one iv driven I just wondered if others are like this or is it something I should worry about

Which gearbox is fitted to your machine.

I'm pretty sure it's 5 speed manual with a separate lever for high and low

Probably bearings gone on some of the shafts. Don't know what is involved in the repair.
