finally bought one!

Post #1 by gaz0203 » Thu Jan 30, 2014 8:31 pm

Hi, after much deliberation over a few different models. Ive taken the plunge and bought a late 1980 3c3 powertrain. No doubt Il have many questions over the next few months. Il start with my first.. The left front has what looks like the original wheel and tyre with i think a 900 16 3 rib tyre. But the other side has a much wider 4wd tyre on a wider looking rim. Seller thinks the rim is off a 3d? Is this likely?

You would probably best finding another wheel to match the wider one. They travel better on the rough and spread the footprint more effectively on the soft.
