3cx 4 switch on shuttle lever ?

My jcb 3cx 4 is a manual with shuttle forward and reverse shuttle lever. There is a switch on the botttom of the lever arm in the cab. Any one know what it's for ? Thanks Ryan

I would guess it's a neutral start safety switch. Lever must be in neutral before engine will start.(If it hasn't been bypassed)

Neutral start switch is on the forward / reverser unit it could just be for the reverse bleeper

It's on the bottom of the reverse lever so would only be pressed if in reverse is that makes sense. The lever is also the the mechanical linkage type that attaches to the gearbox. So It could be the bleeper, it will start in any position forward or reverse I guess the middle of the lever is neutral ?

Would be very surprised if an 82 model would have had a bleeper unless it was an after fit of course. Are there any wires attached that you could follow? Maybe to a reversing light even?

Yea looks like a after fit, could be a light or bleeper. Other things have come to light that may need my attention first. going to start yet another thread for this jcb lol. Please have a look it about the gearbox issue now.
