Hello folks,
Basic question - but I'm still a newbie.
How does the fan heater system work, there is a valve next to the thermostat housing on the engine, does this send hot water to a matrix and then a fan forces air through a vent???
And yes, it is getting cold (hence the question).
Thanks,
Yozza

Re: JCB 3C2 - Heater question
The heater matrix is fed water from the engine block via a hose, the outlet pipe from the matrix returns to the block. As the engine warms up so does the heater matrix. The electric fan attached to the matrix blows the air through the matrix heating up the air coming from it.You may have an isolating valve on the engine preventing the heated water entering the matrix, or the return pipe is blocked or blanked off preventing the water from entering the matrix. Also if there has been a leaking heater matrix it may be blanked off preventing the engine from loosing its coolant.Just check that your feed pipes are connected to the matrix. What used to happen if the matrix leaked ,he inlet and outlet pipes were joined therfore bypassing the faulty matrix.as a temperary fix to keep the machine going
