Thanks for that link Martyn. I have never seen a 4 in the flesh so to speak. It was good to see the detailed photos, particularly of the rear arm and frame.

Yes most interesting Pete, great close up pictures of the restoration ... they have even restored a 3Cmk3, a few railway diesels and buses

Good find martin, there was an article about the 3C and a mention of the jcb 4 in an old copy of classic machinery magazine but that must hae been about 3 years ago now.

That sounds about right David, .. he sent me this email to me..
I should perhaps mention that I put videos up on YouTube, and although AGE748B doesn’t yet feature (except possibly in the background of one or two of the bus clips), there is a video of our JCB 3CIII MSC103T at

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzlKs7HxkWA

should any of your forum members want to see it. I have to admit that the Youtube processing didn’t do this footage any favours as it goes blurry and stutters a bit which is not a feature of the original (and this was my fourth attempt to upload it too as the previous attempts came out worse!). When I have more time I will have to look for more footage that YouTube likes better…

PS I am happy for you to post all of the above if you want to.

I have asked him to join on us here, so he might pop in and say hi soon

YouTube can be a nightmare when trying to upload videos. Especially if you want to upload in high definition. I try and upload all mine in HD because I hate to see the poor quality ones. This the latest one that I put on there. You can see the definition options in the bottom right hand corner of the viewing screen, 360, 480, 720 and 1080. The latter two will give you HD and then of course you can always make the video full size by clicking on the four arrows to the right of the definition options.

But there are problems with uploading in HD. Firstly it takes about an hour to upload each minute of video and so you have to leave it cooking overnight. Then the video has to settle down when fully uploaded (YT calls it processing) and then the tags can take a day or two to sort out.

But it must be remembered that YT is free.

And I forgot to mention that HD videos are best viewed when the YT server isn't too busy. Otherwise it spits it out in chunks and makes viewing difficult.

Sound of that engine brings back some memories, the modern engines just dont sound the same.

(Always seemed with a 3C that the engine was in the cab with you..... :D )
