Re: 3C2 Cutting out? - Fuel Tank?
I've just had a similar thing. Kept cutting out. I decided to investigate the lift pump which was full of crud. I disconnected the feed line to it and there was the slowest of trickles so I bodged a fuel line from the filter to the filler cubby hole with a tuckatucka lift pump and hid a 20ltr fuel drum in there. The machine's working better than ever now.

Like the drum idea ideal and out of the way. My lift pump was full of crud too,as were the final 2 filters. The crud/water in the last two was a crusty build up on the bottom of the sediment bowls. So after the 3 new filters, it seems to run really well thankfully, but tIme will tell when i use it over rough ground again if any more sh@t in the tank blocks it up again.

Fingers crossed its working fine again now, so thanks boys for your help. Next thing to do is fix the dipper ram seal as its whizzing stuff out even when parked up for a week. Its got 90110/090 stamped on the end- anyone know if these are easy enough to get hold of or not? The chrome on the ram has a few abuse scars from use over the years,- anyone know of a good way of filling these to save the new seal? Could you weld then grind it back, or fill it with somthing like epoxy steel? Any tips boys?.

Hello,
do you still need ideas to stop the dirt getting into the fuel system?
I had a similar problem a year ago and found a way or sorted it for good (well its worked for 14months so far)

Still behaving itself-touch wood! Working really well making a road last week. Today I started it up, went to lower the machine off the legs and heard a 'psst' sound!?! Followed by a fountain of hydraulic oil whizzing out from under the right hand wheel arch. Excellent I thought! Turned the motor off sharpish, and went to look at the lake of oil next to the machine. The large bore rubber hose that travels under the arch from the filter housing to the rear spools is the problem. Split behind the wheel high up, looks like it had the rubber warn off by the tyre at some time, and this weakened it.
Anybody know a rough price for another one? Or if 3cx pipes will fit?
As its a big old girl I know it wont be cheap.
Cheer boys.
