Just purchased my next restoration which is a JCB 1, from 1965 so has the hub reduction rear axle and electric start. The machine has been barn stored for the past 30 years so in very good condition and is a runner but doesn't have the original cab and is missing the arched cover plate on the boom so looking for these if anyone has one around?
The hand throttle and seat back are missing so need these - any ideas?
Also does anyone know what other machines the front and rear axles were used on incase I need spares. Certainly need to get replacement front wheel studs and nuts as these are rusts so again need some help please?
Comes with one bucket so would like to get some more if any are around.
I will post some pictures of it when I collect it at the end of August

Re: JCB 1 Grave digger Barn find
Is this the machine that was recently offered for sale by Cheffins at the July sale in Cambridge?
I recall it was listed as part restored but not to a high standard. Did look tidy for the age though.
I would be very surprised if you source either the rear boom cover or a usable cab. I think you will be having to fabricate from scratch with these. More of a chance of finding a reasonable bucket somewhere though.
I look forward to photographs of another excellent restoration in the coming months.
Best of luck.

Re: JCB 1 Grave digger Barn find
Hi Im waiting for the weather to improve but will start letter this month but in the meantime I've been gathering parts for it and have a new boom ram cover made and a set of hoses on order. Next week will probably get a new excavator bucket made for it

The rear axles on these machines were also fitted to Dumpers, Fork Lift Trucks, and Milk Floats.
They were built by Eaton. There is a company that will refurbish the rear axle for you and/or supply parts. If you go to their website for further details.
