Post #1 by al6lom » Mon Mar 21, 2011 1:30 am

Hi guys, been enjoying this site for quite a while now, just wondered if you'd seen this footage of a coalsite I
worked on in the 70's there's a good few seconds of Merrimans scrapers and D9G's at work. Hope you enjoy.

Last saw Merrimans scrapers at Hadiwell (Scotland) on hire to Levack's.It was the last time their 657A's worked. They were cut up in about 1990.I worked alongside some of theit D9G and 631C's about 1992.no pics :(

This might be a strange question but how the hell can you tell who they belong too? the only machine i saw that was sign written was that D9 that was ripping the coal!
I love those blokes infront of that hymac coal shovel with shovels! Youd never get away with that nowadays!

Mark, the name rings a bell as just the other day I feel sure Colin Pardoe was talking about cold places to work and Mark Gravelle in the same bunch of verbs??

A few Mrriman pics from around 1966 - Raglan by-pass. Have some more but will have to convert to format compatible with the forum. Plus a couple of Blackwell's for good measure!
