Well, a few snaps of the first couple of 657G's that have landed.......

As they are in Coal Bowl configuration, they have been shipped in two halves due to the size.........

Well, time for the first few snaps of the new arrivals to the shores of the UK.....

first two of four 657G Coal Bowl scrapers...... The difference between the standard scraper config and coal bowl is the increased capacity from 44yd3 to 59yd3, the bowl is longer and higher due to greedy boards added.

Due to size of the Coal Bowl they have been shipped not quite complete, "some assembly may be req'd", draft arms need fitting and the scraper unit plumbed up........

Lovely to see those new 657s being prepared, something we won't see much of in the future. I wonder where they're heading?
As far as old working scrapers are concerned,I think Kelston Sparkes still have some TS14 Scrapers, not sure how often they get used nowadays though.

Walters have got rid of their 637E but I think they still have 3 631D's. Graham Hillman will be able to confirm this.

hello geraint.
G.Walters have stopped running the 631/s 637/& 637e,they have all been sold, there is still a 631 in bits at east pit but that will probably leave there in a couple of scrap bins,as i mentioned before the price of fuel and the downtime with scrapers in general has put the kiss of death on many of these machines.
graham.
