TEREX TS24C on M40 construction

Post #1 by taurus MK1 » Fri Jul 31, 2009 9:58 pm

:D Hi, a couple of photos of Tarmacs TS24c, i was lucky to snap the first as it was just unloaded. I think there were two, sometime ago now :? .These worked on the Bicester stretch of the M40. I think i have a snap somewhere of one bogged down. Do they still reside in the UK?

Cheers John

Hi Nicky,

The Loadrunner name came from Terex's answer to Cat's cushion hitch, and it may have been optional.

Go fast with less bounce! :D

I'm amazed they are still making 14s though, with twin Cummins and Funk (part of the John Deere group I believe) transmissions.

Lovely photo of the new one standing there John, I was delivering to the next section of the M40 most days, it was the McAlpine section we were on, I never had the sense to take a camera until it was too late. Looks like another standing behind the one in your photo. Thanks for posting it.

The TS24S machines were running alongside TS24 and TS14 Scrapers, and Taurus Mk1 you are correct, the first day one of the machines got so bogged on the topsoil tip, this was because of the design the Box did not actually lift half the height of a B9 or B10, it took quite some time to get it out, a big embarrasment to all the B.Hodge guys watching the operation. They were driven from new by a guy called Martin O Sullivan, and Blondie John.
