Wonderful stuff! Did I count eighty wheels on that trailer?

Best type of heavy haulage!

I have a YouTube playlist full of videos with trains on trucks! I like seeing the combinations so much I made a group on flickr! :D

Here's a good one I found earlier!

I'm amazed that those things can be pushed down the track by four men! This is an interesting insight into how they load them. None of those lads know how to lift properly though, and sitting in-line with the winch cable, feeding it on to the drum, is a suicide mission! However, great skill all round, especially backing the trailers in, even with independently controlled rear-steer.

Some years ago I used to see locos and rolling stock being moved by a haulier named Chris? Lawrence - from Burnham on Sea in Somerset I think. Not seen them lately - are they still around?

I worked on all of those 08's shunters and actually named that loco "Smudger " in 2001 after a fitter at Canton Cardiff depot.
Thanks for posting

Thanks for those. Some wonderful reversing in the 7th, but had to turn off the sound track for the 8th! These boys having nothing in common with American cowboy truckers!

I wonder if that rear-steersman has ever run over his cable?

Its shame to see so many old locos getting scraped! What happens to the names when they got to railway heaven? Do new trains get the old names?

Do you know of any new trains in development Martyn?

Tony those Allelys lads are at the top of there game, cracking drivers!
