Up to the early 1990's there was an old MOD site tucked up by a roundabout slip road on the A4130 between Didcot and Milton Park. Don't know when the Didcot bypass was built though.

Nice one's Steve love the Hymac 880 photos 
this is a later machine with the Volvo engine, the Cummins version had the twin exhausts for the Cummins V8

Those little Thames 400E compressor trucks were actually powered by the compressor engine on back which made them mid engined I suppose !
Dunno how they inked the gearbox to compressor engine as it is other way round.
