There was an accident near here in the late 70s with a farm run tipper. Apparently the driver left the PTO engaged and accidently caught the tipping spool. The front of the body caught a pedestrian crossing bridge and had it down on to the cab. Driver killed.

Yes it can happen Pete and bridge hits are not uncommon there are a couple of bridges near to where I live that regularly get clouted I did take a couple of photos of one that I came across; will have to look them out.

The Pic of the Dennison's got it all.
Not one, but two very rare trucks, weird high clearance lgp dozers and some strange architecture. Brilliant!

Wouldn't mind that Hydrocon crane with Albion cab, bet its gone under the gas axe by now

Yes nice pic .Hydrocon seemed to have put their later cranes on off the shelf Ergo chassis cabs but there is very little info on them.
Anyone for writing a Hydrocon history
And Whitlock , got the latest book but its not that detailed on the excavators.

Yes I bought the book on Whitlock as that's what I cut my teeth on, interesting history but not as much as I thought on the excavator side, I'm restoring a Hymac370c at the moment the Whitlock evolution

I am very envious , would love to own an old backhoe loader but having no space or mechanical ability it will remain a dream !
