I wonder where the pic of the railway bridge being knocked down in, I presume, the Dr. Beaching era was taken? The Brant family are still very much in business in the same place (Heath End, Tadley) although now concentrating on architectural salvage and domestic construction. They're one of the local families, along with the Stacey's and Mould's who did (and continue to) very well for themselves in demolishing and constructing AWRE at Aldermaston...

Apologies if I've posted this before, image owner unknown and badly copied from a magazine, date unknown.

I wonder where that was taken? Quite a distinctive building in the background.
The Horseshoe pub is Pickering (never been there but eldest was looking over shoulder and humouring me and we did a bit of sleuthing!)

This clip is well worth watching with some classic machines at work including the very first Hy-mac 596 operated by Galliford's, other machines include a Hy-mac 880, early 580C and a couple of other Hy-mac 580 type machines, also a quick view of a Poclain LC80, and a JCB 8C among others. The classic cars will also bring back many memories, enjoy!

I wonder when the colour photos of the yard, with the JCB hydradig/losdal, were taken?
