What model of JCB on the low loader? Looks like the boom rams are missing.

Hi Pete,
That's a JCB7 . The hoist rams are mounted flat in the bed of the machine. Cardiff plant ran six 7Cs when I worked for them in the 1960s see picture below.

The JCB advertisement below shows how the rams were connected to the bottom of the boom.

Fred the only JCB 360 of that era which I can think that did not have the boom hoist rams under slung was the JCB 5C.

I have seen the publicity photo before but never noticed the ram positioning.

Hi Pete,
The under slung ram design was inherited from the American Warner Swasey "Hopto" design of which the JCB7 was a close copy.
