A few Fodens, one with my restored Fowler and a very unusual Scammell.

Fred the nose of the unusual Scammell is the same as the tank transporter that if I correctly recall was one of the last trucks to be made that carried the Scammell name; must say that is one very ugly truck, Vic Berry who was operating the one in the photograph was a famous railway locomotive scrap yard in Leicester.

I would have said that was the front half of a LandTrain bonnet. The tank transporter was the Commander and the bonnet would have been as wide as the T45 cab.
I vaguely recall something similar in CM many years ago, the explanation being the extension housed a winch.
Scammell Commander, or if you want to be pedantic, Antar mk4!

If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.

Yes Rob you are correct and that was the beast I was thinking about similar looking but not exactly the same.

Hi Jeremy,
If you look closely it is an S26 cab with the bonnet added on.
There is also info in the pic. itself. There is a King trailer badge on the bonnet which possibly refers to the trailer and S26S which is I think the Scammell model number.
I have Googled Scammell S26S and can find no reference to a model S26 with the suffix S. That "S" may stand for "Special" as they did build specials to order.

I think it ended up looking like that after it had a 14 litre Cummins retrofitted - Allelys Heavy Haulage had it next and put it back to a flat front.
