This just might be a proper edition of the popquiz questions eh...or pubquiz questions for that matter

You lot weren't too far off though, think I've read somewhere that they were,
1. AutoCar
2. Oshkosh
3. Maggie D
4. Mol (Belgium manufacturer of special equipment) based upon a military Berliet chassis
5,6,7,8 and 9 are all Mol's
Not sure what the last pic is though...

The SPMT's were a in-house design and might as well be the first SPMT's that were ever build. Quite some clever lads working in the workshop at the time there, they've made quite some other interesting stuff as well, some of it didn't worked out as planned, but still interesting to see...

Do I get half a point for Willem as I think they were taken over by Mol? ;)
Now I look closer, it actually has Mol on the grille!!!

Stumbled upon these in the archives, might as well be one of the first ever build low loaders... haven't got the slightest idea about what make it is though...

Cheers, Patrick

these style of low loaders sure look different to what I am used to seeing
I have often wondered how they jack them back up with a big load on as I feel it would be fairly easy to punch a hole in the road with the jack base

I'm now thinking that last one is a Saurer. I can't find any pics of similar bonneted types, but their cabovers do have a very similar grille.
I'll keep looking!

That lowloader reminds me of an incident at a steam fair in the 70's. A single axle lowloader had to be unloaded in the road and as it was all but blocking the road they were in a hurry. Jacked it up, knocked out the axle... and it was off! Not very quickly, but as any good herdsman knows - what ever you are chasing, or is chasing you, it will always move half a pace faster! Is that unit a 6x2 or is it missing wheels? And the trailer appears to have 8 wheels one side and 6 on the other!

As far as I can see it's a 6x4 unit, fitted with just the one wheel on the first driving axle...as far as the missing wheels go on that trailer, sharply detected, haven't got a clue why it's missing...
