Did not notice that Jeremy, never seen it in the flesh, as it it were. Someone must have seriously been p1ssed off when that happened. Apparently there are several theories but one is adding weight with lead at some point causing the timber frame to twist.

Hi all.
Just been talking to an 80 odd year old he's lived most of his life around that area and he reckons that the spire was built using wet wood and when it eventually dried out the result was the spire as it is now.
Norm.

Love the top photo with the Poclain TCS any ideas where that was taken? Lovely 70's shot with a good old 'Woolies' in the background.

Looks like tramlines coming out. Manchester area perhaps, noting the Glossop truck.
The first and third photos seem to have the same tower on the horizon.
Is that a MF 20C in the canal photo?

A proper eclectic mix in that photo as well. Looks like the very late 50s or very early 60s?
