Re: Road going tipper trucks
A couple of Fords from the HT Hughes fleet from Portsmouth-probably the largest tipper and skip operator in the area at one time, sadly no longer trading
Leylands and Fodens from the English China Clays fleets in Cornwall-in 1968 their haulage fleets totalled 598 lorries and 364 trailers. TimYou do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi Steve The firm was owned for a long time by a chap called Bob Merrick-then he sold out to Leigh Environmental, from then on i think it changed hands more than once before it came into the hands of SITA and as you say the Renaults went to A&J Bull who had also been bought out by SITA.Hughes & Salvidge-the demolition division were bought by the Jordan scrap metal group from Portsmouth and are still trading. At one time Hughes also owned a Mercedes truck dealership-HTH Commercials and J Mckinney who were Portsmouth based bodybuilders, mostly tipper bodies.
