Dennison-built in Ireland and sold in Britain late 70's/early 80's using steel cabs from Finnish truckmaker Sisu and engines from Cummins/Gardner and Rolls Royce- this example having a 265 Rolls. Tim

A couple of Fords from the HT Hughes fleet from Portsmouth-probably the largest tipper and skip operator in the area at one time, sadly no longer trading

HTH2.jpg
Leylands and Fodens from the English China Clays fleets in Cornwall-in 1968 their haulage fleets totalled 598 lorries and 364 trailers.

Hi Steve The firm was owned for a long time by a chap called Bob Merrick-then he sold out to Leigh Environmental, from then on i think it changed hands more than once before it came into the hands of SITA and as you say the Renaults went to A&J Bull who had also been bought out by SITA.Hughes & Salvidge-the demolition division were bought by the Jordan scrap metal group from Portsmouth and are still trading. At one time Hughes also owned a Mercedes truck dealership-HTH Commercials and J Mckinney who were Portsmouth based bodybuilders, mostly tipper bodies. Tim
