Liked the shunting loco picture,I am involved alot in those moves in our area.We use Heanor and Allerlys, its cheaper to move them on a lowloader as those engines have a max speed of 25mph and you have to pay track access charges. If the locos are towed in a train above 25 mph you have to demesh the motors. We done three moves last week between Newport/ Cardiff and Margam.

The locos are 50 ton.

Hi Gordon,

Enjoy your pics and saw that you have posted a few from the Cambridgeshire/Beds area.

Do you have any more from my stomping ground?

In particular, have you any of MJ Rolls Volvo F86 or F88 at work, or do you have any more of Mr Hull's Fodens?

Cheers

Mark
