Yes, I think it's a TL14 or TL20 . We had a TL20 way back in the late 1960s. Good loader powered by an AEC engine, (I think it was an AEC 690 ). There was a TL14 in a local quarry too,

Thanks all.
When I enlarged the photo I could make out the Allis Chalmers.
Where would they have been built, especially with an AEC engine. Powerful loader for the day.

Hi Pete,
Your comment led me to do some research and I discovered that the TL loaders and other Allis track loaders were built for Allis Chalmers by a company called "Tractormotive" in Illinois, USA.
Allis Chalmers subsequently acquired and took control of Tractormotive in 1959. I can only think that the AEC powered TL20 was aimed at the UK market.
I worked on and drove the TL20 and it definitely was AEC powered.
I also worked on Allis HD6G & HD7G shovels and HD 16 dozers all of which had GM or Allis power units.
Eventually I bought and ran an HD 21 dozer which was more power-full, (240 bhp),than the D8 of the day. That was powered by Allis's own engine which they developed from Buda designs after taking over the Buda engine company. also of Illinois.

Is it just me who whenever they see Allis Chalmers gets a strange vision of some Peter Allis/Judith Chalmers hybrid presenting a program called "Wish you were golfing here"?

Would they have been shipped light from the US and had AEC engines fitted at Essendine to give british market appeal and for ease of parts availability?
If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.

A quick look on Youbend would indicate that most were powered by Detroit Diesels. Perhaps the Detroit was viewed with suspicion in the UK? People rave about the Detroit sound but the noise would be insufferable on an open platform or pre iso mount cab.
