For what it's worth you might find a limited amount of parts here on the Vapormatic site for Ford excavators - provided it fits on the ag. equivalent

I had a glance and they seem to do track rod ends, but I'm guessing you're probably after king-pin bushes etc. as well.

It's a shame that the CE side of NH hasn't yet woken up to what they offer on the Ag. side, that being 'Gold Value' parts which are slightly cheaper than the main-stream parts.
Tell me I'm wrong but from what I see apart from wearing metal the CE side of life doesn't seem to have the likes of Vapormatic, Bepco and Sparex for non-OEM parts. There's still a rake of 550s et-al around, e-bay currently has about 4 on there, sure they'd benefit from some parts.

Thanks Richard,I don't know much about the thing really other than it's about 1983 and is a 555.Would it be a 555A/B/C/D/E?F?I really have no idea! It is ideal for what it does around the yard and it's been here since the start of 2004.The only prob we have had was a cutch pack problem in the tranny and various leaking hydraulics.The engine is underpowered and the steering rams are tiny.They wouldn't suit a Meccano set!.
I saw a call for 655 bits on another thread and wrote the the tel no' down of the chap at Welshpool.

nicky, is it 2wd or 4 ? where abouts are you ? the steering rods are prone to snapping usually just behind ball joint, mite be able to help you out

i was also looking for a few 655 bits after getting some shocking prices from the dealer, only trouble is my time for looking is very limited......life says that 9 timez out of ten the bit your after everyone else has already had it.....hence its dissapointing why certain manufacturers don't think about their historical products and only look to what they've sold in the last 2 years.

nicky, sorry for delay try hitchen in the denby dale area 07836 781570 he breaks a few fords or butterfields at dewsbury he does to, 01274 873758. kingpin kits are still available from ford but as you very pricey. john
