Sundry Cranes from the Seventies& Eighties

Post #1 by MGI » Sun May 08, 2011 1:30 pm

A few shots from a job I was on in Lincolnshire, these shots show the pipeline crossing the river Witham using the open cut method, two of us, one each side draglining and throwing the spoil behind us (on the other side of the Berm) and then on the last day yo yoing the ditch! A bit hit & miss really but they had a diving outfit (Boston Divers) to check the depth and also to place the sand bags over the pipe when it was ditched. The crossing was a few hundred yards from Woodhall Spa. When it rained you realised why they had created the Berms!

Here are a couple more from the same site, does anyone recognise the hydraulic 360 crane? I have only ever seen one of these although I am not an expert in these matters (or any other matters) The second shot is 2 22's yo yo to make sure the middle of the ditch is sufficiently deep.

Looks to be a Coles crane. Though I've no idea about the model.
