Really interesting pictures - thank you for posting them up - a bygone period when strut jibs ruled the roost! Lots of really interesting lorries too, especially Diamond T's and the like.

Wonderful nostalgic pictures - amazing how many good businesses were founded on post WW2 government surplus stock. Ruddington was a sight (and site!) once seen never to be forgotten. I worked pre- college for a farmer who had 5 or 6 ex Mod O type Bedfords all bought there. One at least had been fully reconditioned before being mothballed and then sold off! One of his other buys was a job lot of 20 Austin Champs! Several only needed fuel and batteries, a few more a bit more serious work - I seem to remember that the fully independent back suspension and drive was a bit of a nightmare to work on - and a couple that appeared to have been air dropped with malfunctioning parachutes!
