Hopefully will be down to get the TD6 running soon.
Found a fantastic chap in Bristol that repairs magnetos for a fair price. Was very impressed with his facilities for carring out magneto refurbishment.Bench tested my mag after repair for 30 mins.
Got a good blue spark now.Just short of time

Refitted magneto yesterday, rechecked timing and controls, still no joy.Knackered myself tryingb to start it on the handle.
Now to plan B ,a tow around a nearby field with a heavy duty forklift on Sunday. :dizzy:

Took the crawler for a drag around the field, she fired up and produced a large flame out of the exhaust and ran for 20 seconds.Heavy rain stopped play, now for plan C :dizzy:

Hello Martyn
Sounds as though the mag timing is not quite there. Never had to give my old TD6 more than a couple of swings.
Nearly 50 years since I rebuilt that engine. You obviously haven't had yours running long enough to switch over to diesel yet.
If you want a hand on the weekend ring me, it would be good to re-live the old days for an hour or two.

Hello Fred
Rechecked the timing,it seems spot on with No 1 cyl tdc,and the impulse tripping on M mark for no 1 cyl on the pulley when rotated to M.She chuffed and tried to go today but ran out of time, and energy  .I think it may be a fuel problem now.
I am around Saturday but in Carmarthen Sunday. the TD6 is not far from Barrys place at Capel Llanilltern.Send me a message if you want a play on Saturday.
