Lol My dad used to drive these and the tankers were filled with a grass seed mixture to make the sand tips look a little better with the surrounding moorland

Is hydro seeding still used for stabilising embankments etc ?
Remember that in the 1960s one or two specialist firms used to spray a mixture of seed, nutrients and, I believe, a sort of latex material that held everything in place while the grass established itself and grew through.
Have a mental picture of an ex-army truck (Bedford RL?) with tanks and a monitor doing the job - bet someone has a picture!

I think they still use it because my uncle is on the landscaping side of things and he did some quite recently
