I am running a previously refurbished Fergie FF30DS and would be grateful for info on what oils to use. Universal Tractor OIl was mentioned for the gearbox / hydraulics but I am not sure this is correct for this machine. Can anybody help please ?

Just about any oil you can buy will be better than what was available in the mid 50's.
The transmission won't have any gears needing an EP additive and the hydraulics mean you shouldn't anyway.
The outcome is that a universal tractor trans oil will be perfect,
