Thank you both for the info. I will try all these tomorrow.
I did try unscrewing the dial but it did not raise, i pulled at it but no joy.
Maybe I should take it out and try and clean/free up?
Thanks again.
B250 Fuel problem
Re: B250 Fuel problem
After a long time trying to start it, I gave up and left it a few days. When I tried after that it started first go, which was a relief. So thanks again for all the suggestions.
One thing though it does not tick over smoothly, runs a bit up and down in revs? is there a way to tune it for smooth running?
I do have a multimeter, so really interested in what checks are needed to get glow plugs working.

Diesel engines do have a tendency to 'hunt' which means that when they are on tick over the revs rise and fall, unless this is excessive and causes the engine to cut out I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Start with everything turned off, then measure the resistance from the top of the glow plugs to earth (the engine block).
This should be very low, but not zero.
How many positions does your ignition switch have?
(or do you have a separate glow plug switch?)
