MF 20 INDUSTRIAL TRACTOR full restoration

Post #1 by greendragon3 » Tue Oct 27, 2020 3:20 pm

hi guys , im Terry from ireland ,
first post on here but i've spent the last few days trawling through all the excellent posts and topics on here and i must say it really is an excellent forum .
i thought some of you might be interested in seeing a recent project that myself and my brother completed for a client .

it started life s an MF20 industrial spec tractor sold new to leicester county council , eventually it made its way to ireland where it was " converted " into the red and grey of a 135 to ease selling ,

well the current owner contacted us and asked if we could return it to its former glory of when it left the factory !

a lot of research and sourcing of extremely hard to find parts later and this is the outcome

thank you , not a lot on this particular model although im sure you could spec them from the factory with high speed gearboxes and power steering etc , the only slight difference with this one to an original was the double band drum brakes ( handbrake and foot brake side by side ) and the MPH clock .

That looks like a lot of painstaking work went into it! I take it the owner is thrilled with the result!?!

The cab looks pretty different now compared to the one fitted when it arrived, so was the Industrial MF20 cab different to the Agricultural MF135, and did you have to modify it or get a more correct replacement?

hi @slooby thanks for the kind words ,
regarding the cab , it originally came fitted with a " duncan " cab , this had disappeared along the way before it got to ireland , it had a kind of a makeshift cab fitted when it came to us , the owner had sourced a correct period " duncan " cab to go back on , it took a nice bit of fettling and measuring to get everything to line up ( as you have probably seen in the video ) , the owner asked for a better than factory finish and that's what we tried to achieve .
