Big A

Post #1 by Cx5 » Wed Oct 19, 2016 8:15 pm

In the early 1980's we started seeing bigger kit around on the farms. The Big A was certainly that compared with a 12m aero spreader and you certainly could hear it coming down the road. The one in the photographs was probably on contract hire to Ramply & Timms. It was bouncing around east Anglia spreading Triple Super Phosphate on autumn seedbeds. R & T operated from Alconbury Hill for a number of years before being bought out by Elders IXL. The site is now operated by Marshalls the garden seed people.
