fiat 640dt power steering oil

Hi knowledgeable people
I have a older fiat 640DT tractor and the manual I have says the power steering requires sate 20w oil. Trouble is I cannot find this stuff, does anyone know what I could use as an equivalent lubricant for this from the more modern ones available now??

You could ask your local oil disturber to see what they might suggest is suitable. Looking via google there doesn't seem to be a straight 20w engine oil available via a NZ website.

If straight 20w isn't available locally, I would suggest you find the nearest oil specialist store via the yellow pages and ring them. Some big automotive stores might be worth a shot as well.

I've uploaded the specs for TECTION MONOGRADE 20W by Castrol. The NZ web entry for Castrol seems devoid of the product so you might need to order it.

Had a look in Morris Lubricants(it's a UK company) and for some reason they don't cover the older Fiat range but Universal (UTB) of Romania is there. The UTB 640DT is the same thing,built under licence, and Superfarm Universal 10w 30 is recommended for their PS system.

mate a would have thought any farm oil would be fine for those of you that dont know a farm oil can be used in the motor hydraulics and and gear box of almost all farm tractors

most brands make something along those lines so you only keep one drum on the farm
