I'm almost certain this was winter 1985. For some reason the manual said that the hydraulic drive to the rotor should not be run below 0c, so we used to run it at tickover until the frost melted off the pipes before taking it up to speed. This was somewhere near Bradfield.
This was taken between Marlow and Henley, on a trip from Maidehead to Abingdon.
The nsr tyre had just parted company hence the lean, and when I got where I was going the businesses were shut due to the weather!

If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.

Re: Winter 1985
Nope, 6600 with a Bomford 580 Bushwacker. Full set of nose and front wheel weights, 6 ring weights on the rh rear wheel at 12psi, 40 psi in the lh tyre, and it was still almost imposible to control at full stretch. The breakaway was hydraulic but if it caught on anything the front just spun round into the ditch! Working up hill it sat on the oil tank, going downhill only one wheel had traction so it would do a 3/4 slide until you got it all folded up and weight on both rear wheels.
Used to run 7 days a week from August to February.
Edited to add...
The first pic is near Burghfield, the second is just off the A33 at Sherfield.

Mate that is so true even trucks that only need 250 hp for 100 ton road trains now need to be 650 hp
so my question is are the drivers getting worse or did we just drive to hard once ??
I reckon I know the answer interested to no what everyone else thinks

Re: Winter 1985
No idea, I left in 1986. The last time I saw Mike must have been best part of 10 years ago.
The Maidenhead yard is now industrial units, as is the Burghfield Common site. I do remember going to the auction when all the kit was sold but I can't tell you when that was. I would guess between 1987 and 1990.
Scary after all this time I still remember the phone no.!
