Hi Guys,
I bought a Fiat 1380DT with transmission problems ... I have split the tractor, and on the transmission driven shaft it appears that 2 of the synchrocones (synchromesh rings) on gears #1 & #3 have been majorly "reworked" i.e. the teeth have been eaten.
Can anyone with transmission experience suggest what caused this ... it looks like the affected synchrocones did not release from the driven gears and was crunched when the selector ring was disengaged.
I will try to include 2 pics ... if successful then the fist pic will show a good synchrocone (the brass piece), and the 2nd pic a damaged synchrocone.
Cheers.
