.
Yeah realised set fitted to that 9090 was rubber, was the 1500 series was refering to as being fitted with steels. Looks similar design to stocks aftermarket kit for tractors.
taurus MK1 wrote::D Hi, The tracks are Italian, a company called AMFIBIOUS TIDUE, theyhave been building track units for different applications. If we go back to the 1500 series combines eg 1545 there was an option for tracks, though steel units.Ican remember visiting a farmer in France using a 1550 on tracks. Tracks on combines are nothing new.
The current tracks can be swapped to the customers next new machine, not an option on Class. When the customer trades this machine in we could refit wheels, though we would have to change gearing in the reduction boxes.
Cheers John

Cheers John
That's the beauty of the NH over the Claas - you can't swap the green machine around like you can with these . . . . . plus the Claas is heavier on the front, when you road it with the header off you can almost hear the treads tearing the road

Yes, the old Clayson leaflets show them running on steel tracks working in rice paddys
How's this for a tracked combine - it's a Russian-made Yenesay I came across in Central Asia

Re: New Holland CR9090 on Tracks
Dont even think about dropping any rice based jokes my way Richard!!! Certainly looks the tool though.
Yeah the terra trac round here that runs the roads certainly rips both the tracks and the road to bits at every major turn and its not unusual to find large 'smears' of rubber where its turned hard. Didnt realise the class was so much heavier on the front though than the NH.
Surely track damage due to roading must be a major consideration for contractors when purchasing a machine because of the distances their machine will travel agiainst a farmer owned machine that works over what is by comparison a small area? Could nearly do with a set of hydraulically lowering detachable road wheels somehow?

Morning Richard. There is no way that the chap who designed that combine cab designed the rest of the machine.
David.
Six up front .............................means plenty of grunt.

Cab looks like outsourced component, very similar to some SP sprayers. quite right though, does look out of place when compared to rest of machine!

Hi Dave, outwardly somewhat modern looking, but inside (as with the mechanical side) it's the same old thing.......that machine was being 'tested' and as you can see they've already had to swap some parts on the vario-pulleys
This is what the predecessor looked like - albeit abandoned
I got the message Ray )))) .........have you heard they are growing tea in Cornwall???

I'm not going to dignify that comment with a response, gonna go and play with my duel wheels and sulk instead.
