Some of you local lads may know but this is for those that don't, the Bluebell steam railway has been working hard on it's extension for a few years now, this will eventually link Sheffield Park, Horsted Keynes and Kingscote with East Grinstead and the Network southeast line this will give the railway between 10-12 miles of track to run their fantastic collection of steam engines ( the largest collection of steam engines in the UK with the exception of the national Railway museums collection)
I am pleased to say that on Saturday March 23rd the first steam train will run into East Grinstead since Dr Beeching axed the line all those years ago. So if you are local please try and make it to view a historic moment.
The Bluebell founder Bernard Holden MBE unfortunately passed away last October at the grand age of 104 and did not get to see his dream fullfilled RIP.
