Miners

Post #1 by nick lamb » Sun Sep 18, 2011 3:59 pm

I listened at work to the horrible events this week down in South Wales. It's been along time in this country since that type of headline story hit the news.No words of comfort are going to put that right.
Our thoughts are with the families now.

There has been a lot of fundraising for the families as they need all the help they can get . It was only a small mine but produced a fair bit of coal with a small amount of men. There are a number of mines such as this one in the area. The heavy rain over the last few weeks have not helped. Its a very dangerous job as our family knows, but these men are well trained and very strong.A lot of ex miners have been working in Bath, underpinning the city. One of those killed was on that job but wanted to be with his family so took a job close to home in that mine.So sad.
