One of our parts customers decided the price of our cab tilt rams were far too dear so sourced their own................
All went well till they tilted it for the first time.......then
Its a bit dear now

Nice pic, I did hear a tale of an early Seddon Atki 400 series that was being demonstrated to BRS and the cab went all the way over like that
Not surprisingly Sed Atkis fitted safety stays to prevent such a problem occurring, one interesting event that happened to me whilst I was working on the spanners was when the forktruck hit the back of the Sed Atki I was working on and knocked it off the jack the cab was tilted and the force of the impact broke both the cab tilt ram and the safety stay
Fortunately it was a latter production 400 and the design of the hinges on which the cab tilted prevented it from going all the way over, close call nonetheless.
