A classic Liebherr 900 was offered to me as a trade-in against a nice 3cx I've refurbished. On ariving at the particular machine I quickly realised that I'd sold the same machine about 5 years previously and had put a new undercarriage on it. The machine it'self was still in good shape except the constant shuddering when operating - all pointed towards the hydraulic pump being on its last legs
The cost of replacing or refurbishing a piston pump of this nature would be anything from £1500 - £3000 which really is the price of the machine so reluctlantly it was a no deal Mr Banker.
Anyhow it was a nice evening and me and my equally digger mad son Christian spent a good half hour enjoying driving this modern classic. Lovely sized machine and I love the way the upper structure is 10 storys above the tracks = little chance of swing damage from debris close to the tracks.
Anyone with a dirt cheap piston pump ? - drop us a post card
