Gold Rush new season
Just to let everyone know the new season of Gold Rush starts on Tuesday 6th Jan on Discovery. It's always amusing watching the Hofmans Fu** up on each episode.

Re: Gold Rush new season
Todd is the worst leader ever! How he manages to keep a crew together with how he speaks to them and how he goes about working! Makes out that he knows where to find gold when it's really like "errrrr let's dig here in hope"
Parker seems okay but I think him giving it the big one to guys older than him would get old quick!
Tony Beets is the best in my opinion! Doesn't take rubbish off anyone and cracks on with things!
Plus his daughter is strangely attractive!

I can't wait to see that old dredge that Tony Beats has purchased rebuilt and put back to work. I must admit i prefer Yukon gold it seem a bit more real and there is a wide variety of machinery my favourite being the Komatsu PC700 or 750 that is some machine.

Like most of this genre of program, they're only doing what it says in the script or what the director thinks looks good. How often are the cameras in just the right place to catch an 'unexpected' incident?
If a LandRover doesn't leak oil, it's run out.

They all start as a fly on the wall docu' thingy..........but the pressure is always on the make the next episode then the next series more entertaining until it becomes a stage show! Just look at Ice Road Truckers, Ax Men, etc. I love 'em but I think swamp loggers is as close as you can get to how it must be.

Those poor machines, they are run to destruction lol. That dredger looks interesting. They must go through lots of chains, they only look if the are rated three ton. Would you buy a machine off these guys ?
It said that it takes 100 hours of filming to make one hour show.If I was with parker he would be buried face down in the cut after an hour the way he talks to his workers. I have worked with a guy like Tony Beets, a right looney. Those dubbed engine noises spoil it. Good filming though

Re: Gold Rush new season
How old are those DJB dump trucks on Yukon Gold ? I think they changed to Artix in mid eighties, before changing again to the Cat name. Some of the pre production prototypes were used by Ogdens on a big sewer project near the Tyne Tunnell in the mid seventies. They kept falling over, something to do with the centre of gravity being too high
