The late Fred Dibnah's statue was unvailed in his home town of Bolton at mid day today. We have been fighting for months with Bolton council to get it erected in the place we wanted it.
His widow Sheila emailed me yesterday to tell me that she has set up a website to keep his memory alive and to raise funds for good causes.I first met Fred in the 1980's and visited him many times. He came to our vintage rally in 1997,the things that happened over that weekend will be in a book about Fred that is in production.I ended up sleeping on the showfield after a session on the cider, never made it to my trailor tent
