A newbie and a introduction

Post #1 by davesoda » Wed Aug 15, 2012 4:19 am

Hello all I'm new here and I thought I'd better introduce myself. My name is Dave I live in Australia and collect 1/50 mainly models.

Most are from my Father who worked at Caterpillar for 35 years. I to worked at Cat for a time in the spare parts division.

Anyways here is a picture of my collection.

If anyone has a NZG Cat 325 1/50 that is damaged I'm looking for the undercarrige to replace one on one of my models.

Hi dave, welcome to the forum.

looks like you have a good sized collection there, some of those shelves have a slight bend in them! Be good to see some close up photos of the collection if you have any?

I see you also have some aircraft there? What do you collect? I collect modern military corgi diecast planes and helis. I have not long sold some to make way for new aircraft, some went to Aus!

Yeah be good to see close ups and some of the planes.

Without going too of topic from the construction stuff, I collected quite a lot of diecast planes but combining them and the construction stuff I was running out of anywhere to display them and Im not the sort to keep things boxed up in the back of a cupboard.

I live near a fast jet training base in North Wales so I now collect all the Hawk jets from there, they also have a Search and Rescue squadron there so I have all the SAR helis through the ages, Whirlwind, Wessex and the Sea King

I had a massive fleet of lightnings but sold them all off, most of them to a mate down the road so they're not too far away!

I also have a collection of Army helis and some Iconic planes that I used to see as a kid over home, one of the being the F111!
