Got an old JOAL VOLVO BM A35 so I have decided to do a few custom bits and bobs to it courtesy of a few pics off Google images.
This is her.

Its quite a nice basic model, and very nicely made. A few mods would bring it to life a treat.
So far i have painted some life into the side lights and indicators up front and dabbed some white paint on the VME logo.

I have also shaped a brass handrail for the top of the cab on the operator exit/entry side and soldered up some brass mirror arms.

I wanted to put some LED headlights in but i am stuck for room for a battery.

Re: Fettling with my JOAL Volvo BM A35
I have been at it with the drill to mount some headlights.
As mentioned I cant put working LED lights in there because of no battery space but with a couple of holes and some LED's they make some pretty effective headlights.
The job is a bit rustic so far, need to tidy it up and fix the LED's in place.
Some pics.

With the LED in place. Not fixed in it's final place just plonked in so you get the idea and hopefully the pic shows the effect.

Re: Fettling with my JOAL Volvo BM A35
Been sat there for a while this one so have done a bit more to it last night.
Fitted handrail on the cab
URL of the original image: http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r177/mammut_photos/Diecast/2012_07120001.jpg
Gave the exhaust stack a coat of silver paint
URL of the original image: http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r177/mammut_photos/Diecast/2012_07120003.jpg
And put some hydraulic hoses on the tipper rams. Still a bit to touch up on them.

You can probably see that I have also drilled the holes to take the mirror arms.
Its coming slowly!

Now with the addition of a cople of cab top spotlights. Most of these I found on google images seemed to have some mounted so thought they would be a nice addition to mine!
