I was just looking on e-bay and reckon that pound for pound the NZG models aren't rreally worth it compared to the Norscot stuff. Not only are they more expnsive but the details seem to be a long way off
Anyone collecting them?>

Re: NZG models -vs-
NZG have been around a long time, and their early models have always been a good investment for the collector, same goes for Conrad, they also produce models in a more limited numbers, hence the more expensive price ..for example, to set up the tooling for the casting of say a JCB 3cx will cost around £60.000, thats just the metal castings, and you order say a hundred thousand, that cost has to be spread over that hundred thousand, so if Norscot order three hundred thousand that cost will be cheaper per model, but it makes it less atractive for the collector with investment in mind.
Its rather like my early resin JCB's, and hymac's, the detail was so bland and i did have a struggle to sell them 12 years ago, i more or less gave them away at cost price.. but hey look at the price of them now second hand .. but it was because they were only made to a limited number, as all my models are.
Hope this helps explain in some way

Well I got to say I have a few of the Norscots, like the D11, 657G scraper & some others so haven't seen the NZGs in the metal so got to looking on e-bay to see and thought they were a bit steep price wise
have a look at these two & say which one (from a photo for what it's worth) looks the better

The NZG is a very early model and the Norscot is new so the NZG is going to be dearer because its rare and hardly any deatail becasue of when it was made...
