Re: My current earthmoving model projects
cheers niner, in the pics are my attempt at a county 1174 tractor and bowser - lots of work to go- an aveling dumper by dinky with new wheels needs a few mods and repaint
the row of long bonneted tippers are a mix of leyland landtrains mack b, volvo nh12 and magirus iveco ,(all cheap toys bought for just a few pounds and now being modified with new long chassis made from biscuit boxes- the tipper boxxes on the rear are made from upvc channel usually used in housing- building work which has been cut and formed, the wheels and tyres for these came from ebay seller small white dog, ironically the wheels for these trucks are the single most expensive purchase to date for this project as a whole-
also shown a cat 988b by ertl- Ive cut the teeth out on this- and will just repaint and decal it in the pacman colours-
For dumpers I am mostly employing a fleet of cheap cararama dumpers which are copied castings of the conrad euclid r35s only in plastic and a fraction of the price of the conrads-
These are to be repainted in the euc hi lite green-
all models are 1:50........cough...approx......

Re: My current earthmoving model projects
Great work with the models along with a great fleet of vehicles, looks like it's going to be one good dio. be looking forward to seeing them in action The opencast diorama I have planned is forever upcoming too , I'm in the process of building my fleet at the minute. I was hoping to start my dio this summer but things haven't been going as well as what I hoped for, so it looks like it could be next year....I've been way delayed building my fleet. Mines going to be a UK Coal OCCS. Everything's all planned out, just a few major bits of equipment short.
