what oil do you use

what oil do you guy's use in your old lister diesel engines, (2 cyclinder)

i saw some where to use SAE 20/20w and it'll take 10.8L, does this sound right.

Good evening Rev' Chris. If it an "old Lister" most likely it would have run a 20/50 which can still be found. However you shouldn't have too many problems with a 10/40 semi synthetic, not too expensive, a little easier to turn when cold (not that it will help much, it'll still be a sod to start!!) just a modern equivelent.

We always used to use 10W for most of the year in this great British climate
