I haven't been on for a while here, have my dumper stripped down and rebuilding bit by bit.. have a lot of new parts got for it but I'm finding it difficult to get track rod ends.... there are 6 altogether, 3 right hand thread and 3 left hand thread.... would anyone know where I might get them ? I don't have a chassis number... they look very similar to old Landrover steering joints....

Ronan, I know this is a long shot but if you say they look like Land Rover parts, they may just be, try an old Landy dealer and see if they have any to compare, a lot of dumpers did use the same parts that were fitted to cars of their day such as brake and steering components, got to be worth a try.

I think a lot of components on the old dumpers were sourced from other parts bins. So a fair chance that things like track or drag link ends will have been used elsewhere. Just a question of ID.

Always worth a chat to your local parts supplier for the Land Rover but also talk to the guys at tractor spare parts places. If you are able to measure a ball joint you can usually match it to something else. this has worked well for me in the past with only one exception and that was our David Brown Cropmaster, they were totally unique to themselves.
You will need to measure the overall length of the joint from the end of the thread to the outside of the joint.
The diameter and thread pitch of the thread on the joint.
The height of the taper and then the threaded section as well.
Sometime back I Googled ball joints and how to measure them and got a useful chart on how to correctly measure a joint. Armed with that info I then went to a tractor parts supplier online, Sparex, and they listed many different size ball joints with all the sizes and this put me on the right track to find what I needed.

Good shout on the ball joints (Sparex) looks like they have what I need (Winget 4s) track rod ends, I can't measure them until march (hols at the mo ) but they can't be anymore expensive than Winget. £54 each plus vat plus postage, plus, plus, plus.

DBTparts UK charged me around AU$50 each for the ball joints and that was scary enough then plus postage to the Colonies down here. Average cost of ball joints are more like AU$25.00 each for popular stuff.
Enjoy your holiday and stay safe.
