Thanks Jeremy, John,
The reduction box plugs are around 2 inches lower than the diff plug, I haven't had the axle shafts out at all, I will put transmission oil into the brake casings & gear oil into the diff. I presume that should be ok to do.

Hi folks,

I have the exact same front axle, trying to locate a gear and pinion for it. I've given David the details as suggested previously. Would anyone know where I could locate this. The gear is 41 tooth and pinion 14 tooth.

My next option is to button it back up without it and run it as a 2 wheel drive but thought I'd try and get hold of parts first.

Any help appreciated.

Craig

How bad are the old gears?
Sometimes they can be built up again with weld and ground to shape or new ones can be made if it is important to have 4wd. If it is going back to serious work I would consider sourcing new or second hand parts as you are now but if it is just for fun weld them up and grind them to shape.
Cheers Cobba
